Map of Open-Source Science (MOSS) presentation

Following this year’s SciPy conference, we got invited by a number of groups to introduce Open-Source Science (OSSci) to their members and communities.

The first of these “community visits” took place last Thursday as we got a chance to join the Oklahoma Data Science Workshop during their regular monthly call. This group has 180 members and has been meeting virtually on a monthly basis for the past five years. It provides scientists with a platform to present how they use computing in their research and regularly sees attendance from multiple institutions across the state.

Jon Starr, OSSci program manager, gave an in-depth presentation on our Map of Open-Source Science (MOSS) project. Head over to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) media site to watch the recording.

Thanks again to Blaine Mooers for the kind invitation!

If you’re interested in joining a future meeting of the Oklahoma Data Science Workshop, please contact Blaine Mooers at blaine-mooers@ouhsc.edu to be added to the mailing list.

To join our map of science effort, please check out the forum and join the Google group to receive future updates and invitations to our monthly calls.
